Seva Setu is a humble social initiative established to espouse the cause of every individual deprived of his/her fundamental rights.
In today’s times, there is an abundance of government schemes, programs for the poor and those who need it in India. In spite of this, the ground reality is that either the fruits of these schemes and programs don’t reach the deserving or the deserving are not able to avail the full benefits due to systemic ailments. While there has been an improvement as compared to the past, most of the poor in the remote villages of India still continue to languish and suffer; they are deprived of proper and adequate healthcare, education, drinking water and other fundamental rights.
At Seva Setu, we are determined to change this state of despair, deprivation and exploitation and bring about a tectonic change in the way we address and solve issues of the people.
True to its name, Seva Setu aims to serve as an enabler, facilitator and advocate thus bridging the gap between the provider (state/central government/concerned NGOs) of schemes and programs and the desired beneficiary (poor and needy people). Through our various programs and services we wish to provide a last mile connectivity to people with the local state machinery at various stages, enabling the full chain of transfer of benefits from the government to the beneficiaries.
While we intend to work pan India as we move along, we have started with Bihar, one of the most underdeveloped states in India. We have begun with various schemes in the health sector for the poor and needy, especially the ones related to Maternal & Child Health. In this direction, the first few schemes that Seva Setu is currently focusing on are Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK), Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) and Samekit Bal Vikas Yojana (SBVY).
Our various programs aimed at bridging gaps present in the delivery mechanisms for these schemes are Aam Sabhas – awareness campaign & group activities, Citizen Care – Telephone based assistance service for prospective beneficiaries under various state & central government schemes like the Indira Gandhi National Vridhawastha Pension Yojana, Indira Gandhi National Vidhwa Pension Yojana, Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, Grievance redressal etc, Mother Care-Telephone based reminder service for pregnant & lactating women, Meri Kahani Meri Zubani – true tales of people, Pahel– collaborative work with the administrations of various districts in implementing various programs.
Mission statement
Our mission is to enable every Indian to assert his/her fundamental rights and to avail the benefits of government schemes that guarantee these rights.
Vision statement
A happy, healthy, graceful, creative individual, whose fundamental rights are fulfilled, protected & honored for a dignified living in a problem solving society that is just, caring & kind.
We eventually want to be redundant in the long run as we believe that in an ideal scenario if the society & individuals put their hands together to solve the problems affecting them, institutions/organizations like ours will not be required to exist.
Our presence
Though we intend to work pan-India and reach all prospective beneficiaries as we move along, we have started with a few earmarked districts/blocks in Bihar & Rajasthan. We intend to expand & penetrate as we gather momentum, participation & above all, real impact on ground.
